Q: I haven’t registered to vote, how can I register?
A: Voter Registration ended on 4 August, 2014. No more voter registrations will be conducted after this date.

Q: Is voter registration compulsory? Are there any penalties if I did not register?
A: Voter registration is not compulsory and there are no penalties if you did not register. However, only registered voters can: vote, become a member of a political party, hold an official position in a political party and stand as candidates for election.

Q: Can I vote if I didn’t register?
A: No, the only way you can vote is if you have registered.

Q: If I lose my Voter ID Card, what should I do?
A: Bring a valid form of ID to any one of the Voter Information Centres located around the country or at the Elections Office in Suva to receive a new Voter ID Card.

Q: My name is spelt incorrectly on my Voter ID Card. How can I correct it?
A: Bring your Voter ID Card and a valid form of ID to any one of the Voter Information Centres located around the country, or to the Elections Office in Suva, and we will be able to correct your details and issue you with a new Voter ID Card.

Q: I have moved to a new address since registering. Do I need to change my address with the Elections Office?
A: Yes. It is very important that change your address with us so that we can assign you a polling station near to where you live. To change your address, bring your Voter ID Card to any one of the Voter Information Centres located around the country, or to the Elections Office in Suva.

Q: Can I register even though I am not 18?
A: No. Only Fijian citizens who are 18 years and over can register to vote.

Q: Can I check my registration details online?
A: Yes. You can check your registration details online.

Q: How do I ensure that my details are correct in the National Register of Voters?
A: It is your responsibility to ensure your voter details are correct by checking your entry in the National Register of Voters. You can do this by either visiting any one of the Voter Information Centres located around the country, or you can check online.

  1. I live in Australia and we have moved to a new location. How can I make a change in address on my voting card?
    Can it be done by email? Please help me.

  2. Is there a voters registration list or book I can check to see if I am in it,or my parents?
