Plebiscite Vote :

** A plebiscite will be held in the Municipality of the District of West Hants in areas of Districts 1, 3, 5, 6 and 7.

** On Tuesday, February 7, 2017 a plebiscite will be conducted in the Municipality of the District of West Hants in portions of Districts 1, 3, 5, 6 and 7, pursuant to a request received by the Nova Scotia Liquor Corporation, from the municipality on the question
** “Are you in favour of the sale of liquor in your municipality in accordance with the Liquor Control Act?” Yes or No.
** Under the authority of the Liquor Control Act, the Chief Electoral Officer designates the plebiscite areas in the Municipality of the District of West Hants to be in portions of Districts 1, 3, 5, 6 and 7.
** A group of persons in favour of or opposed to the question may nominate one or more persons to act as agent for the group at each polling station in the plebiscite area.
** Interested persons may contact the Returning Officer.

Notice of Revision, Advance Poll, Proxy Voting and Plebiscite Vote Revision :
If you are at least 19 years of age on the date of the plebiscite, but not currently on the List of Electors, you may be added to the list during Revision, at the Advance Poll or at either poll on February 7th, the day of the Plebiscite Vote.

Revision :
The revising officer will be sitting to hear applications for additions and changes to the list of electors- Thursday, January 26, and Friday January 27, 2017, during the hours of 10:00am to Noon, 2:00pm to 4:00pm, and 6:00 pm to 8:00pm at 9 Merriweather Crescent, Garlands Crossing, NS.

Advance Poll :
** Friday, February 3 and Saturday, February 4, 2017, Noon to 8:00pm at Three Mile Plains Community Hall 4474 Highway #1, Three Mile Plains, and Summerville Fire Hall, 59 Summerville Wharf Rd., Summerville.
** Advance polls only, people in map areas 1, 2 and 3 may vote at either poll location.

Plebiscite Vote :
Tuesday, February 7, 2017, 8:00am to 7:00pm.
Vote at the poll that matches your map area.

Electors in area 1: Summerville Fire Hall, 59 Summerville Wharf Rd., Summerville, NS.
Electors in areas 2 & 3: Three Mile Plains Community Hall 4474 Highway #1, Three Mile Plains, NS.

Proxy Voting :
** If you are at least 19 years of age and your name is on the List of Electors, you may inquire about voting by proxy by contacting the Returning Officer at 902-798-7579.
** Applications in writing will be accepted between Monday, January 23, 2017 and Saturday February 4, 2017.

Results :
** Results of the vote will be posted on this page as soon as possible after the plebiscite polls have closed.
** Results will also be posted via Twitter @electionsns and on our Facebook page facebook.com/electionsnovascotia/

** Our mandate includes conducting liquor plebiscites as well as provincial general elections and by-elections.
** Over the history of our province, electors just like you have been called to vote on plebiscite questions ranging from whether cities and towns should amalgamate to whether liquor should be allowed in Nova Scotia at all.
** A plebiscite is a vote on one specific question and the result of the vote can change a piece of legislation or can make something legal, like the sale of liquor.
