Overseas Voting Registration FAQ

Who can register as an Overseas Voter?
Under Republic Act No. 9189 as amended by Republic Act No. 10590, all citizens of the Philippines or dual Filipino-American citizens, who are not disqualified by law, at least 18 years of age by 09 May 2022 may register as an Overseas Voter and vote for President, Vice-President, Senators, and Party List Representatives in the upcoming 2022 elections.

Where can I register as an Overseas Voter?
Registration is conducted in person for biometrics capturing at the Philippine Consulate General in New York, 556 5th Avenue, New York, NY 10036.

What should I do if I moved and need to update my residential address?
Registered voters who wish to change their mailing address, transfer their registration from other countries into New York, or correct other details in their registration such as a change in their name, etc. must also do so in person.

Can I register online?
NO, there is no online registration option.

Can we register during Consular Outreach?
YES, OV registration will be included in Consular Outreach Missions within the registration period. Please await further announcements regarding outreach missions on the official website of the Consulate.

Can we register at other Philippine Embassy or Consulate?
YES, qualified OV registrants may register at other Philippine Foreign Service Posts.

What do I have to present to register as an Overseas Voter?
Applicants are also required to bring original and one (1) photocopy of proof of Philippine Citizenship such as any of the following:

** Philippine Passport (photocopy data page only)
** Identification Certificate (if dual citizen)
** US Permanent Resident Card
** US Work Permit
** US Visa
** Seaman’s book (for seafarers) – photocopy data page only

How do I know if my previous registration has been deactivated?
Check the list below of previously registered voters in New York whose registration had been deactivated for failure to vote in the 2016 and 2019 elections. If you are on THIS LIST, then you have to reactivate your registration in person, subject to the requirements stated above.
