The Election Commission of Bhutan, under Section 457 of the Election Act of the Kingdom of Bhutan, 2008, hereby notifies the general public that Pemba has been successfully elected as a Gup for Dangchhu Gewog with the polls held on 6th of March 2017.

The overall Voter Turnout was 77.6 % with a total of 902 Voters, out of the total of 1,162 Registered Voters casting their votes. Of the total votes cast, 803 votes were cast in in person on Electronic Voting Machine in the 5 polling stations and 99 votes through Postal Ballots.
It is also hereby being notified that a member elected to fill a casual vacancy shall only serve for the remainder of his/her predecessor’s term of office as per the Section 580 of the Election Act of the Kingdom of Bhutan, 2008.
The general public is hereby informed that the Election Petition Period starts from 7th of March 2017 and shall end at 5 P.M. on 20th of March 2017.
