Voting at Polling Stations with Disabled Access :

** Pursuant to Article 79a, local electoral commissions determine those polling stations that have disabled access.
** Voters who wish to vote at such a polling station and who are on the electoral register for the area of that polling station (i.e. their “home polling station”) do not need to inform the local electoral commission of this.

** Voters who wish to vote at a polling station where they are not on the electoral register (regardless of the district in which the polling station is located) must communicate their intention to the local electoral commission in the area where they are entered in the electoral register, no later than three days prior to polling day.
** At polling stations determined by local electoral commissions as disabled access polling stations, it will be possible to vote using special voting apparatus.
** The decision as to which polling stations will offer this facility is taken by the state election commission.
** The list of polling stations with disabled access and special voting apparatus is published on the website of the state election commission at the time elections or referendums are called.

Methods Of Disabled Access Voting :

Disabled voters may vote in the following ways :
AT POLLING STATIONS WITH DISABLED ACCESS :
** Voters who wish to vote at a disabled access polling station and who are on the electoral register for the area of that polling station (that polling station is their “home polling station”) do not need to inform the local electoral commission of this.
** Voters who wish to vote at a disabled access polling station in an area where they are not on the electoral register (regardless of the district in which the polling station is located) must communicate their intention to the local electoral commission in the area where they are entered in the electoral register.
** Voters must send such notice no later than three days before polling day.
** If a voter is listed in the electoral register for the area of a polling station with disabled access, they may not choose another disabled access polling station.
** Voters can give notice of their intention on the form published on the website dvk-rs.si (form Obr.06).
** They can send their notice by post, fax or e-mail (to the address of the local electoral commission).
** In exceptions they may also communicate such notice by telephone, for which voters must state their name and surname, and at least their date of birth, permanent residential address, personal ID number and telephone number

At Polling Stations Equipped With Special Voting Apparatus :
** Voters who wish to vote at a polling station equipped with special voting apparatus and who are on the electoral register for the area of that polling station (that polling station is their “home polling station”) do not need to inform the local electoral commission of this.
** Voters who wish to vote at a polling station with special voting apparatus in an area where they are not on the electoral register must communicate their intention to the local electoral commission in the area where they are entered in the electoral register, no later than three days prior to polling day.
** Such notice should be sent to the local electoral commission in the manner set out in point 1.

With The Assistance Of Another Person :
Each voter has the right to be accompanied by a person to assist them in filling in or submitting the ballot paper, if their physical impairment prevents them from doing so on their own.

Voting Outside The Building Assigned As A Polling Station :
If a polling station is not accessible to the disabled, voters with disability may also cast votes by means of the election committee facilitating voting in front of the building assigned as the polling station, with two members of the election committee providing the voter with a ballot paper and envelope, into which the completed ballot paper is placed, in front of the building assigned as the polling station. When the voter casts a vote, next to the name and surname of the voter that cast the vote, a note is made in the electoral register that such a method was used and the ballot paper is placed in the ballot box.

Using Aids For The Blind And Visually Impaired :
** At polling stations the election committees have aids for voting intended for the blind and visually impaired (stencils), facilitating the casting of votes by such persons.
** The list of polling stations with disabled access and special voting apparatus is published on the website of the state election commission at the time elections or referendums are called.
